Why You Should Never Use Hair Conditioner If North Korea Fire Nuclear Bomb on Guam?

Following North Korea’s missile threat, guidelines have been issued by Guam’s Office of Civil Defense in the event of a nuclear blast.

The guidelines, which are also on the US Department of Homeland Security’s website, give warning on what to do following a nuclear blast.

It might come as a surprise to some that those caught in the chaos are told not to was their hair with conditioner. This is because conditioner can bind radioactive particles from the blast to your hair.

After a nuclear blast, buildings, rocks and living things are turned to dust, which is known as 'nuclear fallout' and it lets out a stream of dangerous radiation. If you're caught up in an explosion, this dust can settle on your clothing and skin. Some of the particles are so small that it can slip into the tiny crevices found on each strand of hair.

Hair conditioner contains compounds called cationic surfactants and polymers which can trap particles of contamination inside each strand of hair. Unlike shampoos, conditioners are designed to stay behind on your hair.

So what's the right course of action? Radiation safety expert, Andrew Karam, advises you to use just shampoo and soap and the radioactive dust should wash right out.

Hopefully, you won't have to put this advice into practice.

Treatment For Internal and External Hemorrhoids

For treatment of internal hemorrhoids, one of five methods is usually used:

1. Rubber Band Ligation - This procedure involves placing a small rubber band at the base of the internal hemorrhoid. The band cuts off blood supply to the hemorrhoid, causing it to shrivel up and fall off in about four to seven days.

2. Injection Sclerotherapy - This procedure involves injecting a chemical solution into the mucous membrane near the hemorrhoid. This chemical causes inflammation and closure of the veins, thereby shrinking the hemorrhoid.

3. Infrared Photocoagulation - This procedure involves directing an infrared light to coagulate (clot) the dilated veins of the hemorrhoid. This causes the hemorrhoids to shrink, since the blood does not flow through the coagulated blood vessels.

4. Laser Coagulation - This new procedure involves the application of an electric current to the hemorrhoids. The electric current, emitted by an electrode probe, triggers a chemical reaction that shuts down the blood supply in the hemorrhoid and causes the inflamed tissue to shrink.

5. Hemorrhoidectomy - This procedure involves surgically removing the hemorrhoid groups in the anal canal, and is performed with a scalpel, cautery device or laser.

For the treatment of external hemorrhoids, one of three methods is used:

1. Infrared Photocoagulation

2. Laser Coagulation

3. Hemorrhoidectomy

For the treatment of a prolapsed hemorrhoid, a hemorrhoidectomy is recommended.

For the treatment of a thrombosed external hemorrhoid, drainage of the hemorrhoid or a hemorrhoidectomy is recommended.

The doctor may have been just monitoring you for now; until you get out of the first trimester (the first 13 weeks of pregnancy).Doctor will observe you and will never recommend immediate surgery since you are pregnant only if the cyst is so big and cancerous. Cancerous ovarian cysts occur only to about 1 from 25,000 pregnant women base on statistics.

It is a typical condition to pregnant with ovarian cyst is to have ruptured or burst ovarian cyst, which do not interfere with pregnancy or labor, nor will it pose danger to the baby. Rupture cyst may cause excruciating pain and discomfort during the last stages of pregnancy. The Ruptured Ovarian Cyst Symptoms, Causes, Complications and Treatments In Many Ways.

What causes an ovarian cyst? Some experts say that common ovarian cysts come from a hormonal imbalance. If a woman has a hormonal imbalance, her body will not make eggs (ovulate). In most cases, this imbalance does not last long. The doctor may want to just observe you until the cyst goes away. And if this doesn’t disappear a doctor may suggest for a surgery. But surgery is just an option and some natural remedies are also available and effective.

When are women most likely to have ovarian cysts?  Most functional ovarian cysts occur during childbearing years. And most of those cysts are not cancerous. Women who are past menopause (ages 50–70) with ovarian cysts have a higher risk of ovarian cancer. At any age, if you think you have a cyst, consult your doctor for a pelvic exam.

Common Symptoms of Ovarian Cyst. A woman with an ovarian cyst will often notice pelvic pain which is constant, dull and aching. She may also experience pain during other daily activities, such as during or immediately following sexual intercourse. Pelvic pain may also be felt when passing a bowel movement or during regular daily activities such as lifting, bending or reaching. Other more intense activities such sports and physical activity may also induce pain. A woman with a ruptured ovarian cyst may experience pain associated with their menstrual cycle - in particular, pain may escalate just prior to or just after the menstrual period.

A woman with an ovarian cyst, whether it is intact or ruptured, may experience a menstrual cycle that is irregular, or which is longer or shorter than usual. Bleeding may be much heavier than usual, or may be present as "spotting" - small bleeds that occur at random throughout the menstrual cycle. By contrast, other women with an ovarian cyst may find that their menstrual period stops altogether (commonly called as amenorrhea). When an ovarian cyst ruptures, there is inevitably an onset of sharp, piercing pain, particularly in the lower abdominal quadrants. If there has been no pain associated with the presence of the ovarian cyst prior to rupture, the increase in pain upon cystic rupture will be particularly evident. If the intact ovarian cyst has induced pain prior to rupture, you may notice a slow escalation of pain when the ovarian cyst ruptures.

Complications of Ruptured Ovarian Cyst. Ruptured ovarian cyst are potentially serious and, in some cases life threatening, these complications occur relatively infrequently. Seeking medical advice if you are experiencing any of the symptoms associated with an ovarian cyst is critical and may reduce the likelihood of complications. These complications are very rare, but it is important to visit a doctor as delays in the same can be fatal and have life threatening consequences.

Rupture of an ovarian cyst may be asymptomatic or associated with the sudden onset of unilateral lower abdominal pain. The pain often begins during strenuous physical activity, such as exercise or sexual intercourse. It may be accompanied by light vaginal bleeding due to a drop in secretion of ovarian hormones and subsequent endometrial sloughing.

Treatment. Ruptured ovarian cyst treatment is directly related to the intensity of a persons condition. Generally doctors will probably perform a CS (CAT SCAN), and/or an ultrasound to correctly detect the condition. It is important to observe that when you have a fever along with abdominal pain, then you should really go to the emergency room or doctor without delay, because this might be an indication of something more serious. In extreme instances a woman may have to have an operation to eliminate a ruptured cyst.

Ruptured Ovarian Cyst can be treated with any of the following:
  • Warm compress- applying warmth to the lower abdomen next to the ovaries can relax muscles and reduce cramping and discomfort.
  • Surgery- in cases where the ruptured ovarian cyst becomes a threat, it may be removed through  surgery
  • Oral contraceptives- taking in birth control pills or hormone supplements can help regulate the menstrual cycle and prevent the development of  follicles which can grow into ovarian cysts
  • Pain Relievers- non steroidal drugs and anti inflammatory medication can help reduce pelvic pain

The Caused and Symptoms of Vaginal Yeast Infection and the Vulvitis

A vaginal yeast infection is irritation of the vagina and the area around the vagina, called the vulva. It is caused by an overgrowth of the fungus or yeast Candida. Yeast normally live in the vagina in small numbers, but when the bacteria in the vagina become out of balance, too many yeast grow and cause an infection.

What are the symptoms of vaginal yeast infection and vulvitis?
Vaginal yeast infection and vulvitis cause symptoms that are nonspecific, which means that aside from the yeast infection, other conditions can cause the identical symptoms. The most common symptom of a vaginal yeast infection is itching in the vaginal and/or vulvar area. Other symptoms of vaginal yeast infection and vulvitis include: burning, soreness, pain during intercourse and/or urination, and vaginal discharge. (Vaginal discharge is not always present, but when it occurs, the discharge is odorless and typically has a whitish, thick appearance and texture, like cottage cheese.)

Vulvitis can also cause local pain in addition to the above symptoms. Pain in the vulvar area is referred to as vulvodynia. In up to 5% of women, yeast vulvovaginitis may cause a recurrent problem. A recurrent yeast infection occurs when a woman has four or more infections in one year that are not related to antibiotic use. Recurrent yeast infections may be related to an underlying medical condition and may require more aggressive treatment.
